Solomon was a very wise prophet and king. God had given him a great gift: he could understand the language of animals. The birds brought him news, and the wind blew by his leave.

One day Solomon set out on a journey with his great army. Horses, soldiers, banners... The army was going to pass through a green valley. This valley was called the Valley of the Ants, because thousands of ants lived there.

The ants were working as usual. Some were carrying wheat, some were cleaning the nest. Then a little ant climbed onto a stone and saw the army coming in the distance. At once she called out with all her might:

"O ants! Quick, go into your nests! So that Solomon and his army do not crush you without noticing!"

The ants ran into their nests. Solomon heard this tiny voice. He smiled at the courage the ant showed to protect her friends, and at her saying "without noticing." The ant knew that Solomon would never hurt anyone on purpose.

Solomon stopped his army at once. "Let's wait a little," he said. "Let the ants go into their nests." Then he prayed to God: "My Lord, help me to be thankful for the blessings You have given me and my parents, and to do good deeds that please You."

When all the ants were in their nests, the army passed through the valley slowly and carefully. Not a single ant was hurt.

This story tells us: being small does not stop you from making your voice heard. And being great means noticing the little ones and protecting them. Next time you see an ant on the ground, change your path a little too.

The tale ends here. Sleep well.
